Roads

Council maintains approximately 630 km of sealed public roads and 420 km of unsealed public roads, but does not maintain privately owned roads.
Types of Maintenance
Maintenance carried out by Council on public roads includes:
- Filling of potholes on sealed roads
- Footpath and cycleway maintenance
- Grading of gravel roads
- Guidepost / guardrail maintenance
- Kerb and gutter maintenance
- Linemarking of roads – maintenance of existing and installation of new linemarking
- Street sweeping
- Maintenance of traffic and pedestrian facilities such as pedestrian crossings and roundabouts.
To request maintenance to a public road, contact Council's Engineering Services Division by telephone, in writing or in person and place a Service Request for the road to be inspected.
