(REP) Regional Environmental Plan

The Hunter Regional Environmental Plan 1989 must be considered in the preparation of local environmental plans, codes and policies and in the assessment of development applications within the Great Lakes Council area.

The Hunter Regional Environmental Plan 1989 (Hunter REP) aims to promote balanced development within the region and requires the consideration of issues such as social development, economic development, land use and settlement, transport, natural resources, environment protection, conservation, recreation and the development of land of regional significance.
