Last modified: November 18, 2009 - 2:41 PM

Draft Amended Development Control Plan No. 33 - Stroud Heritage (draft DCP) includes updated, simplified controls to the existing ‘Development Control Plan No. 33 - Stroud Heritage’, in addition to controls for new buildings and subdivision within the Stroud Visual Village Catchment.

Council will be exhibiting the draft DCP for fifty-five (45) days from Wednesday, 16 September 2009 to Friday, 30 October 2009.

Persons wishing to view the formal statutory exhibition of the draft DCP may do so at the following venues and times:

  • Council’s Administrative Building, Breese Parade Forster, between 8.15am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)§         Council’s
  • Stroud District Office, Cowper St Stroud, between 8.30am - 12.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

Option to Expand Stroud Heritage Conservation Area (HCA)
As part of the review process, and in response to the implications of the NSW Housing Code, Council is also investigating the possible expansion of the Stroud Heritage Conservation Area (HCA). This would enable certain historically significant parts of the Stroud Village not currently within the HCA to be afforded a higher level of protection from unsympathetic development.  Council is seeking community feedback during the exhibition of the draft DCP regarding the possible expansion of the existing HCA (refer to yellow outline in the attached map). Community opinion in regards to the proposed expansion will significantly guide Council's decision on this matter so your feedback is encouraged.

To assist the community in making submissions regarding the Heritage Conservation Area, the presentation and handouts (including a map of Stroud with the existing HCA) from the Community Meeting on 8 October 2009 have been attached to this page.

Public Information Sessions
Public Information Sessions on the draft DCP and the proposed expansion to the HCA will be held during the exhibition period at the Stroud District Office by appointment. To make an appointment contact Council’s Rebecca Underwood on (02) 6591 7224 during business hours.
