New waste services - count down!

Last modified: October 8, 2009 - 11:14 AM

Local Councils are making changes to how waste is collected and recycled in our area.  The wheelie bin with the red lid is for general waste and will be collected weekly, the wheelie bin with the yellow lid is for recycling (collected fortnightly) and some residents will receive a third wheelie bin with a lime green lid for garden organics (collected alternate fortnights).

Did you know that by recycling your steel and aluminium cans, paper and cardboard and plastics you keep waste out of landfill and reduce your household's greenhouse gas emissions?

Please remember to check the start up date for your area, these details can be found in the information pack which was delivered with your new bins.  Your current collection day and time may change from your previous waste collection times.

Great Lakes Council and JR Richards and Sons staff will be holding a display in Stockland Shopping Centre from Wednesday 21 October through to Saturday 24 October, call in and ask the friendly staff for any information you may need to know about Midcoast Waste Services new waste, recycling and garden organics service or check Midcoast Waste Services website for more details.

Look after Mid North Coast's environment and sort for our future!
