Vegetation Strategy

Last modified: June 2, 2009 - 2:27 PM

A Vegetation Strategy is currently being developed with the intent of effectively conserving and managing the regions local plant communities.

The Great Lakes region contains a diverse range of natural vegetation communities, which are of important ecological significance. The protection and management of these communities is a shared responsibility of Council, other agencies as well as the regions landholders. To determine the extent and health of vegetation communities within the LGA, Council has commenced a Vegetation Strategy. This document is scheduled for completion in 2005 and includes a range of actions to protect and manage the regions vegetation. A Vegetation Strategy is currently being developed and will be available at a later date.
