Minimbah Landfill

Last modified: July 13, 2009 - 11:38 AM

Council approved the development on 25 July 2006 after considering further matters involving updated and detailed flora and fauna reports along with surface water and leachate management.  Further, Council considered additional reports and advice from Government agencies including the Environment Protection Authority and MidCoast Water.

Minimbah Landfill Progress - works have progressed well despite the ongoing wet weather:

  • excavation is underway on the quarrying operation with the first blast of hard rock undertaken in May.  This will enable rock crushing to proceed for use on the upgrading of Glen Ora Road.
  • Drainage works are almost complete on Glen Ora Road.
  • Necessary tree clearing along Glen Ora Road is complete and has been undertaken with strict care for property and fauna.
  • Construction of the internal access road has commenced.

The Environment Protection Authority has issued a draft licence for the facility.
