Guide for prospective applicants

Important information on how to apply for a position with Council.

Thankyou for your interest in gaining employment with Council. For your application to be further considered it must include the following:-

  • A covering letter stating why you are applying for the position and giving details of how you can be contacted.
  • A statement addressing each of the selection criteria. Consideration for interview will be based upon your clear demonstration of how you meet the essential and desirable requirements of this position.
  • A full resume (curriculum vitae) which provides your relevant personal details, qualifications and work history.
Please note that all applications received will become the property of Great Lakes Council and cannot be returned to unsuccessful applicants. DO NOT submit applications in plastic folders or include original documents. Your application must be marked "Private and Confidential Application for ......." and addressed as follows:- Human Resources Department Great Lakes Council PO Box 450 FORSTER NSW 2428 Applications must reach Council offices by no later than the specified closing date. In relation to time constraints applications will be accepted by facsimile on (02) 6591 7200, however, the original application must still be forwarded to Council for our records. For reasons of equity, late applications cannot be accepted. If you are forwarding your application through Australia Post, please ensure that you allow enough time for it to reach Council before the closing date. Should you wish to hand deliver your application, you should lodge it at the enquiries counter of the Administration Building, Breese Parade, Forster. Human Resources Manager
