Hawks Nest/Tea Gardens Centre-Based Respite (Myall Dolphins and Happy Days Club)Last modified: March 4, 2009 - 10:37 AM
Hawks Nest Tea Gardens Centre-Based Respite Service is a HACC funded program designed for older people, including those with memory loss, who may be frail or less mobile than the average person and who have an interest in meeting others. The service offers the opportunity for conversation, activities, morning tea and lunch at the centre with an outing scheduled approximately once a month. Myall Dolphins aims to bring together around 25 people on Fridays. The Happy Days Club provides support and assistance to a smaller group of people living with memory loss, fortnightly on a Thursday. The service is also available to those living in Pindimar, Bundabah, Tahlee, Carrington, North Arm Cove, north of the river in Karuah, and Nerong areas. Carers are encouraged to take a break from their responsibilities while the person they care for spends the day with the service. A team of valuable volunteers assist the staff in providing services to both groups. Contact details
