Parks, Reserves & Playgrounds

Last modified: June 29, 2009 - 10:52 AM

Great Lakes Council offers a wide range of parks and reserves for recreational purposes.

Parks can be booked for private functions such as wedding ceremonies and birthday parties, as well as community events such as concerts, markets and festivals. Certain events may require a Development Application. Community groups and not for profit organisations who conduct activities on Council controlled properties require public liability insurance. Please contact Council for the level of indemnity required for the activity that is being undertaken.

How Do I Book a Council Reserve

Council controlled reserves, parks and beaches can be booked, however exclusive use is not guaranteed and access to the area must remain available to the general public. A Reserves and Beaches Booking form is available as a downloadable document at the bottom of this page.

Weddings on Public Reserves

Wedding ceremonies can be undertaken on certain Council Reserves, however exclusive use cannot be given as they are public areas. There is restricted usage regarding carpet, chairs & signing table and they must be removed as soon as the ceremony has finished. No structures are to be erected such as gazebos and definitely no rice or confetti is to be used.  Photography is allowed anywhere, however you must be mindful of other users, especially at lookouts.  At no time are wedding receptions permitted in public reserves.

If you would like to book in a wedding ceremony please fill in the booking form below and provide information on location, number of guests, time required, parking requirements and any other special conditions such as access for elderly, carpet, flowers, chairs, tables.
