Community Census 2008 - Now Extended to 13 April 2008

Have your say – Influence Council direction

Great Lakes Council is conducting a Community Census to evaluate Council's performance and better understand the lifestyles and priorities of the community.  The results will assist Council in its planning for how to best serve the community.  By participating you are investing in the future and ensuring your priorities are taken into consideration in developing the Great Lakes Strategic Plan 2020.

Complete the Census now! - http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=8zEkDikhcLyyikEfIMN_2fHw_3d_3d

How can I make a difference by completing the Census?

  • Evaluate the performance and importance of all Council services.
  • Inform Council's direction on what we do, and how.
  • Tell Council how you would like to be consulted or involved.
  • Tell Council, Government and service providers about what has an impact on your quality of life. So they can plan services and infrastructure to address community priorities.

Who can participate?

  • Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in the Great Lakes Local Government Area.
  • All Census results are anonymous and individual survey results confidential.
  • Each member of the household is invited to complete a survey, regardless of age.
  • Carers and community workers may provide assistance, however the results should reflect the views of the person being assisted.

$1000 prize pool for participants!

On completion of the survey you are offered the opportunity to participate in a lucky draw for one of ten $100 vouchers, redeemable for any Council service including:

  • Great Lakes Aquatic Centre membership, swimming lessons, etc
  • After School and School Holiday Programs for primary school aged children (delivered in Tuncurry and Tea Gardens)
  • Council caravan park bookings
  • Hall bookings
  • Rates payments
  • Purchase of subsidised worm farms and compost bins
